These castle ruins called “Burgruine Hals” (Hals = neck) are located in the area of Passau (Germany/Lower Bavaria). The name (neck) derives from the neck position of the castle on the neck (Hals), that is, from the tight loop of “Ilz”. On a narrow mountain ridge above the town lie the ruins of the once mighty castle Spornburg.
I also shoot pictures of some older buildings in this area. It was a nice walk along the River called “Ilz” – I enjoyed the beautiful green nature around me!
